Job Overview

The School Van Driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school. This position demands adherence to safety protocols and the maintenance of a respectful atmosphere for all passengers throughout the journey.

Primary Duties

• Operate the assigned school van safely along fixed routes, ensuring punctual pick-up and drop-off of students.
• Monitor and uphold student safety during boarding, travel, and disembarking.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections every day.
• Keep the vehicle clean and address minor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Promptly communicate any mechanical faults or accidents to the relevant authorities.
• Maintain detailed attendance and trip documentation.
• Enforce safety regulations, including mandatory use of seat belts when applicable.
• Provide assistance to younger children or students with special requirements during ingress and egress.
• Collaborate closely with school staff, parents, and fellow drivers to ensure smooth operation.
• Participate in mandatory training sessions and staff meetings as scheduled.
