About the role
JAC Recruitment is hiring a Safety Officer for a full-time, on-site position in Andhra Pradesh. The role focuses on strengthening workplace safety across operations by working closely with multiple departments and external teams to maintain compliance, reduce risk, and build a strong safety-first culture.
What you will do
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, HR, and other functions to roll out safety standards consistently across day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to team discussions so safety priorities are aligned with business and operational objectives.
- Help colleagues spot hazards, evaluate risks, and apply suitable controls in their work areas.
- Promote a preventive safety mindset and encourage ownership of safe work practices at every level.
- Work with supervisors and team leads to uphold safety procedures, company policies, and permit-to-work requirements.
- Drive team-oriented safety activities such as toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering staff to support safe equipment installation, operation, and upkeep.
- Assist HR and learning teams in creating and delivering safety training that improves awareness and capability.
- Support emergency preparedness by helping plan and run mock drills with response teams.
- Engage contractor groups to ensure they follow site safety rules and maintain consistent safe practices.
- Review safety observations, incidents, and related data with teams to spot patterns and prevent recurrence.
- Encourage employees to report unsafe acts or conditions openly and without hesitation.
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation and compliance inputs across departments.
