Role Overview

This opportunity is perfect for newly qualified physiotherapists seeking their first role or current Band 5 physiotherapists interested in a change of environment. The position offers rotations of four months in several vibrant specialties including critical care, neurosurgery, acute stroke and stroke rehabilitation, trauma orthopaedics, general medicine, surgery, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Additionally, candidates may explore further development in Burns and Plastics, Paediatrics, and Women’s Health, although these are outside the core rotation scheme. The Trust serves as a Major Trauma center and regional hub for Neurological, Vascular, and Renal care, providing a diverse range of clinical experiences.

The Band 5 rotation is designed to strengthen fundamental physiotherapy skills, laying a solid platform for career progression. The fast-paced setting ensures engaging work with collaboration across Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, Therapy Assistant Practitioners, apprentices, and wider multidisciplinary teams.

Professional Development and Responsibilities

Support includes clinical supervision and ongoing educational sessions within the teams. Opportunities exist for involvement in student supervision, service development, and educational initiatives.

Post-training, you will join the evening and weekend respiratory on-call rota. Various teams operate a six- or seven-day service model, moving towards a comprehensive 7-day care pattern requiring participation in this working schedule.
