Role Overview
This contract position invites an illustrator to craft six essential artworks for a children's picture book series targeting ages 6 to 10. Key Responsibilities
- Produce six principal illustrations delivered in three stages over roughly three weeks.
- Complete and submit all artwork by 14 August 2026.
- Employ a style featuring loose hand-drawn pencil or ink linework enhanced with soft watercolour washes that convey a warm, storybook, and subtly imperfect vibe.
- Ensure artwork supports the marketing strategy, crowdfunding campaign, and exclusive print products.
- Work closely with the author to align visuals with the narrative and overarching project goals.
- Provide high-resolution digital files optimized for printing and online display.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in children's book illustration highlighted by a strong portfolio of relevant creations.
- Skillful in producing hand-drawn linework combined with watercolour or wash effects, utilizing either traditional or digital mediums.
- Capability to generate emotive illustrations that enhance storytelling.
