Job Summary
The Registered Pharmacist will be primarily responsible for accurate and safe medication dispensing, counseling patients, and adherence to healthcare laws. Collaboration with medical professionals to optimize drug therapy and patient outcomes is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and verify prescriptions to ensure correctness and suitability.
- Dispense prescribed medications along with clear instructions for use.
- Advise patients regarding dosage, potential side effects, drug interactions, and proper storage of medications.
- Monitor ongoing medication therapies and suggest adjustments as needed.
- Keep detailed records for prescriptions and controlled drugs to maintain compliance.
- Ensure all pharmacy activities meet legal and professional standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock control, and expiry monitoring.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support personnel effectively.
- Address medication-related queries from patients and healthcare staff.
- Engage in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
- Document and report any adverse drug reactions or medication mishaps promptly.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized institution.
- Hold a valid pharmacist license or registration per regional regulations.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge in pharmacology, medication management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in pharmacy management software and electronic health records systems.
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Criteria
- 1 to 3 years of experience in retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy environments.
- Additional certification in a pharmacy specialization, if relevant.
- Practical experience handling inventory control and regulatory adherence.
