About Wave Mobile Money
Our mission is to transform Africa into the first continent to become entirely cashless. In 2017, more than half of Sub-Saharan Africa's population lacked bank accounts due to high fees, inaccessible branches, and limited payment methods. This situation forces people to keep money in unsafe places, while small businesses deal with predatory lending and parents spend excessive time paying school fees in cash.
Wave addresses these challenges by creating financial services that are straightforward, free of account fees, instantaneous, and widely accepted. Even in places with unreliable infrastructure, users can send money easily using Wave. Since launching a mobile application in Senegal in 2017, Wave has expanded to millions of users across nine countries.
