Role Overview

We are seeking a full-time Quantity Surveyor based onsite in Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and evaluating bills of quantities (BOQ), supporting cost planning throughout project phases from inception to completion, and assisting in tender preparation and analysis. Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, enforcing cost controls, and delivering regular cost reports to both internal teams and clients.

The role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and contractors to verify quantities, evaluate variations, and ensure cost efficiency in hospital construction and medical engineering projects. Maintaining precise documentation, aiding contract administration, and aligning project finances with company standards and client expectations are also key duties.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proficiency in preparing BOQs and conducting quantity take-offs, including measurement and documentation within construction and medical engineering contexts.
  • Experience in cost planning and management, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and value engineering techniques.
  • Skilled in cost control and reporting, with the ability to monitor expenditures, analyze variances, and generate clear and timely reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, standards, and procurement procedures relevant to the sector.
  • Competence with quantity surveying and project management software, alongside proficient use of MS Excel and office tools.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, emphasizing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to function within multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Prior experience in healthcare, hospital construction, or complex infrastructure projects is advantageous.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in a recognized quantity surveying or construction professional body is preferred.
