Role Overview
eNGINE is looking for an experienced API Test Engineer to take full ownership of service-level testing for REST APIs that support critical two-way system integrations. In this position, you will create, run, and automate test coverage that helps confirm every endpoint is dependable, secure, and ready for production use.
Testing Focus
- Validate successful request flows using correct inputs and expected outputs.
- Check how the API behaves when data is missing, malformed, or otherwise invalid.
- Cover edge cases and limit conditions to confirm boundary behavior.
- Verify that failures and unexpected inputs are handled appropriately.
Technical Environment
You will work with tools such as Postman, SoapUI, JMeter, Ping API, and vREST. The role also requires strong familiarity with HTTP methods including GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE, along with common response codes such as 200, 201, 400, 401, 403, 404, 429, and 500. You should understand request and response headers as well as JSON payloads in both directions.
