Position Overview
Based in Bangor, North Wales, this Proposal Writer role involves joining the Procurement team to produce persuasive, well-structured sales proposals that help distinguish GLI from its competitors and support revenue growth. This role is best suited to candidates with a keen eye for detail and advanced writing abilities, supported by strong process management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage timelines for information gathering, content creation, review, and approval to consistently meet proposal deadlines.
- Work alongside the Sales Department to generate comprehensive Statements of Work and tailored proposals for prospective clients.
- Coordinate iterative review cycles and gather stakeholders’ feedback to enhance proposal drafts.
- Edit and refine proposal language, ensuring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and coherence.
- Structure and monitor the proposal lifecycle, assigning responsibilities and maintaining schedules for on-time submissions.
- Track incoming proposal requests and update progress records.
- Record signed proposals in departmental documentation.
- Analyze RFPs, participate in strategic planning meetings, and ensure responses satisfy client instructions.
- Stay informed on industry trends as needed to inform proposal content.
- Recommend innovative approaches to crafting competitive bid materials.
- Create and maintain templates for frequently requested services.
- Uphold standardized procedures for developing and releasing proposal content.
- Apply established templates and guidelines to maintain high standards of quality.
- Take on additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, or an equivalent discipline is preferred, though significant relevant experience may be considered in its place.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective team collaboration.
- Proven capacity to balance multiple projects and manage tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.
