Overview

Join the Property Group within the Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO), a leading public-sector property and accommodation provider in Queensland. This role reports to the Principal Project Manager, Major Projects, supporting the execution of key capital works, building refurbishments, asset renewals, and portfolio-wide initiatives. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and various stakeholders to manage a diverse government property portfolio effectively.

About QGAO

The Queensland Government Accommodation Office manages one of the largest public-sector property portfolios in Queensland, overseeing more than one million square meters of office space and strategic assets. The Property Group delivers office fit-outs, refurbishments, asset and property management services, as well as sustainability initiatives vital for government service delivery across the state.

Role Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide administrative support for capital works, maintenance projects, and portfolio programs, including monitoring progress, identifying risks and issues, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Analyze project data, stakeholder inputs, and risks to assist project teams in problem identification, option evaluation, and decision-making.
  • Track and report on project timelines, milestones, risks, and deliverables, including escalation of any emerging challenges.
  • Collaborate with QBuild, government agencies, consultants, and other stakeholders for project planning, issue resolution, and achieving project objectives.
  • Support contract management by assisting with administration and monitoring of service contracts and standing offers to ensure compliance and timely issue escalation.
  • Conduct research and provide informed recommendations on asset management, relevant government initiatives, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with agencies, local government bodies, industry representatives, and stakeholders to facilitate project delivery and maintain productive relationships.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has solid experience assisting in capital works, maintenance, or infrastructure project delivery with skills in progress tracking, risk assessment, and project coordination. Financial administration and contract management experience including budget monitoring are essential. A good understanding of project management, contract administration, risk management, and procurement within government contexts is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders are vital.
