Project Manager/Scrum Master

Overview

We are partnering with an expanding software consultancy specializing in product development, Microsoft technologies, and bespoke software solutions. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager/Scrum Master to handle both project management and Scrum responsibilities to ensure successful project delivery. This pivotal role involves guiding teams during the Discovery Phase and throughout the agile delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Discovery Phase by defining project scope, objectives, risks, constraints, and high-level timelines.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, align expectations, and ensure mutual understanding of project goals.
• Develop clear discovery documentation, encompassing problem statements, user needs, process workflows, and proposed delivery strategies.
• Create and manage project plans, track milestones, allocate resources effectively, and maintain risk logs.
• Ensure a seamless transition from Discovery into Agile delivery phases.
• Act as Scrum Master for one or more agile teams, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
• Partner with Product Owners to maintain a well-groomed and prioritized backlog.
• Identify and remove obstacles hindering team progress and encourage teams to become self-organizing and continuously enhance their delivery performance.
• Foster an atmosphere of collaboration, transparency, psychological safety, and effective communication.
• Promote agile methodologies and support the maturation of agile practices across the organization.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
• Communicate project status, risks, and impacts clearly and empathetically.
• Cultivate a culture of openness, trust, shared responsibility, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
• Seek ongoing improvements in processes, team dynamics, and delivery results.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master within agile environments.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrable experience leading discovery or early project phases.
• Capability to support teams through the entire agile delivery process.
• A warm, approachable, and collaborative style, emphasizing team empowerment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Agile certifications such as AgilePM Foundation/Practitioner or Scrum Master credentials.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams, including designers, developers, product owners, and analysts.
• Familiarity with additional agile delivery frameworks like Kanban, Lean, or SAFe.
