Project Manager - Southeast Michigan

About the Role

Clark Construction Company is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to supervise construction projects throughout Southeast Michigan. This position entails managing several concurrent projects, coordinating with diverse stakeholders, and overseeing comprehensive project delivery from initiation through completion. The successful candidate will ensure projects are executed within the designated timeline and budget, maintaining transparent communication with clients, internal teams, and partners. Collaboration with the Business Development team will also be key to identify and secure future projects in the region.

The office is based in Detroit, Michigan, serving clients across Southeast Michigan. Ideal applicants will be located near Detroit, Dearborn, Sterling Heights, Ferndale, or other adjacent communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain thorough project scopes, schedules, work breakdown structures, and planning assumptions. Anticipate and manage adjustments in scope, budget, and schedule to ensure projects remain on track.
• Coordinate with superintendents and management to allocate personnel and materials effectively, optimizing use of resources to meet objectives.
• Continuously prioritize projects and adjust allocations to meet crucial deadlines and milestones.
• Define roles and responsibilities clearly for all stakeholders ensuring alignment and accountability throughout project teams.
• Monitor key project performance metrics, identify deviations early, and implement corrective strategies to uphold schedule and budget goals.
• Collaborate closely with project and functional teams to align resources effectively with deliverables, ensuring smooth execution.
• Promptly identify and resolve issues affecting project performance, removing obstacles to maintain momentum and timely delivery.
• Design and manage comprehensive project execution plans including risk management, communication strategies, change control, and quality assurance aspects.
• Perform regular project evaluations and provide clear, timely updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain open, consistent communication with clients, team members, and leadership to ensure alignment, manage expectations, and promote progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related discipline is preferred from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated capability to independently oversee multiple projects and assignments within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with a background in developing efficient processes and workflows.
• Solid practical understanding of construction and engineering operations, adaptable to changing tools and methodologies.
• Proficient in data automation tools, project management software, and common business applications including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective collaboration across diverse teams and hierarchical levels.
