Role Overview
The Project Manager I will drive the planning, coordination, and execution of divisional projects, collaborating across functions like R&D, Marketing, Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Operations. The role emphasizes project scheduling, resource coordination, progress tracking, and maintaining alignment with timelines and objectives. It is a defined-term position expected to continue until mid-2028.
Work Model and Location
This position uses a hybrid work model, requiring at least three days per week onsite at one of multiple Boston Scientific locations in the US, Costa Rica, or Ireland. Sponsorship or relocation assistance for employment visas is not provided for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and monitor detailed project schedules, milestones, and deliverables using project management platforms.
- Coordinate project tasks across multiple cross-disciplinary teams including research, regulatory, manufacturing, and operations.
- Track project progress, recognize scheduling risks and resource limitations, and escalate issues when needed.
- Support project planning activities such as timeline creation, resource allocation, and comprehensive project documentation.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, record action items, and ensure timely follow-ups on pending tasks.
- Aggregate team inputs to maintain accurate project schedules and status reports.
- Monitor project metrics, dependencies, and deliverables ensuring alignment with goals.
- Assist in managing team resources, tracking capacity and workload across concurrent projects.
- Prepare and distribute status updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Maintain rigorous project documentation complying with business and quality standards.
- Undertake additional duties and support special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of experience in project coordination, management, or a comparable role.
- Proven experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing project timelines and deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Jira.
- Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Attention to detail ensuring accurate project documentation and risk identification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated sectors.
- Knowledge of product development processes and commercialization projects within regulated industries.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and align stakeholder interests across multidisciplinary teams.
Additional Information
The salary range for this position is $106,800 to $202,900 annually, varying by location and candidate qualifications. Compensation includes core and optional benefits, potential annual bonuses, and long-term incentives for exempt roles.
