Position Summary
The Project Manager will oversee projects from planning through completion, with responsibility for keeping work aligned to budget, schedule, and scope. This role coordinates project activities, tracks deadlines and compliance requirements, integrates work across teams, and directs project personnel by assigning duties and responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Create and maintain project plans for all assigned work, ensuring milestones are delivered on schedule and projects remain within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Hold recurring project meetings, clarify and track task ownership, and work to remove barriers in a timely manner while keeping stakeholders engaged.
- Review budgets on a monthly basis, monitor spending, and make sure resources are used appropriately across active projects.
- Identify, document, and update project risks, escalate serious concerns quickly, and ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulatory rules.
- Track milestones and performance indicators, provide regular status reporting, and keep project records complete and current.
- Support or lead process improvement and change efforts, capture lessons learned after projects close, and help improve delivery outcomes.
- Complete additional duties as assigned within expected timelines and remain responsive to requests in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience totaling 7 years.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Familiarity with health care operations, compliance expectations, and process improvement methods.
- Ability to use project management tools effectively, along with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience preparing project charters, work breakdown structures, risk registers, and communication plans.
- Capability to lead cross-functional groups, manage expectations, and work through organizational change.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data in decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to executive-level audiences.
- Ability to build a collaborative, accountable, and improvement-focused team culture.

Employment Details
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lubbock, Texas. Compensation is paid monthly, with a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Pay is determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, departmental budget guidelines, and the institution’s pay plan.
The role is not grant-funded, requires up to 25% travel, and follows a day shift schedule.
Visa and Compliance Information
TTUHSC may, at its discretion, start new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in line with the directive issued by Governor Abbott, subject to Texas Workforce Commission approval. In limited cases, the institution may also support change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for eligible positions. If a $100,000 fee applies, TTUHSC will not cover it.
