  • Guide participants through vocational and work readiness training and source additional services available through CalVIP.

  • Offer training designed to reduce obstacles to program completion and provide consistent case management support.
  • Assist participants in overcoming barriers to employment, such as transportation, education credentials, record expungement, health issues, and workplace resources.
  • Collaboratively devise personalized development plans and make referrals to necessary resources.
  • Monitor participant progress towards goals and offer ongoing support to tackle challenges.
  • Liaise with case managers, project finance staff, directors, and external evaluators to coordinate services, funding, data, and project satisfaction.
  • Establish connections with local employers who may hire graduates of Amity Works.
  • Manage intake processes and assess eligibility and aptitudes of new participants.
  • Provide job readiness assistance, including mock interviews and guidance on disclosing justice involvement appropriately.
  • Prepare and update Individual Service Plans (ISP) and document all participant progress and services.
  • Maintain collaboration with project leadership, BSCC liaisons, education, and employer partners.
  • Deliver employment support such as resume assistance, time management, workplace communication, and relationship skills.
  • Demonstrate cultural competency and community advocacy while representing the Amity Foundation.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and remain effective within a team setting.
  • Attend relevant training sessions provided by BCSS or external evaluators.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or a high school diploma (or equivalent) plus two years of experience as a job developer or in a related role.
  • Preferred candidates will have at least one year of job development experience and basic understanding of criminal record expungement.
  • Lived experience related to incarceration, addiction, poverty, or foster care is considered advantageous.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in public speaking, facilitation, and one-on-one communication.
  • Strong interpersonal, written communication, and typing skills.
  • Ability to effectively represent the organization to diverse stakeholders.
  • Capacity to integrate and apply changing procedures and information.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork and client engagement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary and to travel locally as needed.
  • Physical ability to frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, sit and stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions like typing.
  • Capability to talk, hear, see, and use various types of vision for task completion.
  • Work takes place primarily in an office setting with moderate noise; temperature can range from cool to hot.
  • Ability to adapt to mental and emotional stresses associated with the role, including working with challenging individuals.
