About sKids

sKids has been dedicated to creating joyful, educational, and adventurous out-of-school care programs for children across New Zealand since 1996. We aim to foster an environment where tamariki can enjoy laughter, learning, and play.

Available Positions and Hours

We are hiring for two management positions at our Kumeu cluster sites:

Programme Manager at Waimauku Primary School, requiring a minimum commitment of 15 hours weekly
Multisite Assistant Programme Manager covering Waimauku, Taupaki, and Matua Ngaru sites, requiring at least 6 hours per week

Workdays run Monday to Friday with the following shifts:

Before School Care: 7:00am to 8:30am
After School Care: 2:30pm to 6:00pm (attendance from 2:30pm onwards is mandatory)
Opportunities for additional hours during school Holiday Programmes are available for those interested.

Role Description

This position offers a dynamic work environment where every day brings different experiences. Your role will involve creating a safe and nurturing place for children to flourish through a variety of activities.

Organizing and supporting engaging activities like arts, sports, cooking, and creative play
Supervising children to ensure their safety and enjoyment
Applying positive behaviour management techniques tailored to diverse needs
Building strong partnerships with parents, caregivers, and school personnel
Managing daily programme operations from preparation to closing, specifically for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles
Leading and mentoring team members to maintain high-quality programme delivery in leadership positions

Candidate Qualifications

Ideal candidates are caring, dependable, and passionate about working with children. Essential criteria include:

Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand
Reliable transportation to the Kumeu-area sites (Waimauku, Taupaki, Matua Ngaru)
Availability starting at 2:30pm on weekdays
Energetic, positive mindset with a proactive approach
Experience in childcare, education, coaching, or similar fields
Leadership or supervisory experience is necessary for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles
Comfortable and confident in managing groups of children
Applicants for managerial positions must be 20 years or older to comply with Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004
