About the Role
Maybridge Development LLC seeks to hire six full-time Program Managers to support disaster recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene across National Forests in North Carolina, including areas such as Brevard, Nebo, Mars Hill, Franklin, Pisgah Forest, Murphy, and Robbinsville. The position focuses on restoring forests, infrastructure, and community resources through managing recovery projects like road and trail repairs, bridge replacements, facility restorations, hazard tree mitigation, and watershed stabilization. This opportunity involves close collaboration with USDA Forest Service personnel, contractors, and partner agencies in some of North Carolina's most scenic national forests.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assigned disaster recovery projects from initial planning through to final closeout, ensuring adherence to safety, budget, schedule, and federal quality standards.
- Manage project documentation including registers, risk logs, stakeholder engagement records, meeting minutes, and status reports.
- Coordinate efforts with USDA Forest Service staff, partner agencies, contractors, and consultants to facilitate successful project completion.
- Participate in mandatory bi-weekly in-person meetings at the USDA Forest Service Supervisor's Office in Asheville.
- Support implementation and ongoing maintenance of Project Management Plans and the USDA Forest Service FSM 2030 Large-Scale Event Recovery Framework alongside standard operating procedures.
- Provide training on project management and SOPs to employees of the National Forests of North Carolina.
- Conduct routine field visits throughout National Forest districts, requiring travel on unpaved and remote forest roads.
- Identify project risks and apply practical solutions to maintain project progress while ensuring federal compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with demonstrable expertise in scheduling, risk mitigation, stakeholder relations, resource management, and reporting.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, with effective communication skills to handle a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility to undergo and maintain a Federal Tier 1 or Tier 2 Background Investigation.
- Availability for twice-weekly attendance at meetings in Asheville and travel throughout Western North Carolina.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Microsoft Office suite, and similar project management tools.
- Access to a reliable four-wheel-drive or high-clearance vehicle for travel on unpaved forest roads; business-use automobile insurance is advisable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with USDA Forest Service or other federal land management agencies.
- Background in disaster recovery programs, including familiarity with FEMA Public Assistance, CDBG-DR, USACE, or comparable initiatives.
- Knowledge of USDA Forest Service FSM 2030 Large-Scale Event Recovery Framework.
- FEMA ICS/NIMS certifications.
- Experience using Survey123, ArcGIS, or other GIS technology.
- Residence in Western North Carolina is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range between $85,000 and $90,000, commensurate with experience, certifications, and federal project experience.
- Reimbursement for business-related mileage at the IRS standard rate, excluding commuting mileage.
