Role Purpose
The Product Specialist will craft and execute product strategies and shape the portfolio for designated crops and geographic areas to address specific customer segment demands effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate product strategies tailored for specific geographies, working collaboratively across functions to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Define the local Target Product Profile (TPP), driving decisions on market positioning and managing the full product lifecycle including portfolio configuration.
- Plan and coordinate trials by selecting standard varieties, allocating trial seeds, and setting key traits for evaluation in PLC 6 trials.
- Provide input on seed production requirements transitioning from PLC 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 for the assigned territory.
- Aggregate CU or Territory Trial reports (PLC6) to inform advancement decisions and promotional planning.
- Develop and lead New Product Introduction (NPI) strategies and customer experience campaigns.
- Manage variety naming and oversee registration processes and intellectual property protection activities, including trial management.
- Evaluate value-added traits, market positioning, and recommend pricing strategies based on comprehensive market analysis.
- Offer strategic insights to the Regional Commercial Leader (RCL) by monitoring market trends, value chain demands, and competitor environment.
- Continuously update understanding of customer needs and preferences to support portfolio health assessments, refine TPPs, and prioritize target segments and markets.
- Provide technical assistance to key producers and enhance the sales team's capabilities through knowledge sharing to bolster sales and after-sales support.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing product strategies with cross-functional collaboration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of product lifecycle management including market positioning.
- Experience in consolidating trial data to guide product advancement and promotional initiatives.
- Capability to devise and execute New Product Introduction processes incorporating customer engagement campaigns.
- Expertise in market analysis, value trait assessment, and pricing strategy formulation considering competitive dynamics.
- Strong skills in monitoring customer needs and preferences, supporting portfolio evaluation, and updating target product profiles.
