Job Overview

This position involves leading the AI Transformation Squad at Eyewa, focusing on leveraging AI technologies to drive measurable business outcomes. The role is hands-on and execution-oriented rather than strategy-driven. The successful candidate will develop AI-enabled internal tools that streamline workflows, cut costs, and enhance operational decision-making throughout the organization. Furthermore, they will serve as the internal expert on AI deployment standards and best practices, ensuring consistent and robust integration of AI functionalities across product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the AI transformation roadmap encompassing operations, customer experience, supply chain, and data intelligence, prioritizing initiatives based on return on investment rather than subjective interest.
• Convert diverse business challenges spanning multiple departments into well-defined AI product specifications detailing datasets, model goals, output requirements, evaluation methods, and integration points.
• Create, deploy, and refine autonomous workflows and intelligent automation that gain adoption and reliance among internal teams.
• Maintain ownership of AI production output quality by establishing definitions of production readiness, creating evaluation frameworks, and monitoring model accuracy, hallucination frequency, latency, and overall dependability.
• Serve as the central point for gathering and prioritizing AI requests from across the organization, critically assessing potential use cases, and safeguarding machine learning engineers’ focus on high-impact projects.
• Set explicit success criteria for each initiative prior to development, including metrics such as cost savings, time efficiency improvements, problem resolution rates, error reduction, and customer satisfaction increases (NPS uplift).
• Lead the creation and enforcement of Eyewa’s AI governance framework, encompassing output quality standards, evaluation protocols, monitoring processes, explainability benchmarks, and production readiness procedures.
• Advocate AI best practices across product teams by facilitating training sessions, devising practical playbooks, and partnering closely with squads implementing AI features to ensure correctness from the start instead of retrospective audits.

Candidate Profile

• At least three years’ experience in product management with a minimum of one to two years handling AI/ML products that are live in production and have demonstrated impact beyond prototypes or pilots.
• Proven track record of operational improvements achieved by AI tools replacing manual tasks, reducing tangible costs, or transforming team workflows with quantifiable outcomes.
• Strong technical knowledge that allows effective collaboration with machine learning engineers regarding prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic systems, evaluation sets, and model trade-offs.
• Approach business challenges from a process-oriented perspective prioritizing workflow needs over technology novelty and can discern when simpler solutions suffice.
• Responsible for comprehensive quality assurance ensuring AI solutions meet criteria for reliability, accuracy, and explainability, with experience developing evaluation frameworks and learning from production issues.
• Experience defining and implementing AI governance standards that meaningfully influenced development practices through playbooks and enablement rather than simple documentation.

Desirable Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, or equivalent, or with large language model evaluation pipelines.
• Background in eCommerce, retail, or omnichannel operations.
• Familiarity with the unique market conditions in the MENA region.
