About the Role

Nando's UK & IRE is embarking on a mission to create lasting happiness by positively impacting employees, customers, communities, founders, and suppliers. The Customer Team is crucial to engaging audiences and driving footfall to restaurants and digital platforms. This contract position focuses on product design for Nando's forecasting app and dashboard, a key digital tool used in restaurants to predict sales volumes and staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts across two domains within a cross-functional team under the guidance of the Lead Designer.
• Oversee individual projects and coordinate multiple projects, collaborating with other product teams to consider diverse use cases across channels and contexts.
• Identify and explore problems through research and ideation using UX methodologies and heuristics, while skillfully applying existing or newly created components from the Design System.
• Utilize research and data to validate design concepts by conducting user interviews, surveys, and reporting insights to the Lead Researcher.
• Provide support with prototyping, A/B testing, training, mentoring, and guiding teams on building effective tests.
• Incorporate AI-assisted design tools into daily workflows, rigorously validating outputs to maintain brand integrity, accessibility, and UX standards before sharing or deployment.
• Develop clear, reusable prompts for design-related tasks such as synthesis, discussion guides, and copy variants, promoting best practices within the UXD team.
• Champion seamless transitions between digital and physical channels and ensure accessibility and inclusivity in all digital products.
• Effectively communicate design decisions and present work with relevant context to UXD peers, stakeholders, and teams.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of five years’ experience in product design roles demonstrating successful project delivery.
• Strong understanding of the double diamond design process, UX heuristics, and methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, balancing customer needs with business objectives to deliver optimal user experiences.
• Proficiency with design and delivery software such as Miro, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Figma.
• Self-motivated and able to work confidently in ambiguous environments.
• Keen interest in design, including product thinking, market fit, and customer experience.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and seek assistance when needed.
• Open to receiving constructive feedback and making adjustments accordingly.
• A desire to bring the best version of oneself to work and contribute positively.
• Inspiring and eager to both teach and learn within the team.
• Deep expertise in the design domain, complemented by broad knowledge of customer experience and business operations.

Additional Information

This contract role is classified outside IR35 regulations and requires onsite presence at the Putney, England location.
