About Mednet
Mednet is a complimentary, physician-exclusive community created to help doctors solve the nuanced clinical questions that come up in daily practice. Unlike many clinical support products that simply pull together widely available information, Mednet brings forward the insight, experience, and pattern recognition of respected experts. The mission is to extend the shared knowledge of medicine to every physician, regardless of where they work.
Role Overview
This position will own the full design process and help define Mednet’s design standards, culture, and craft from an early stage. You will partner closely with product leaders, engineers, medical specialists, and founders to understand complicated, high-impact user needs and translate them into product experiences that are intuitive, polished, and easy to use.
You will also establish a high design bar, create the design system from the ground up, and ensure that usability, accessibility, and trust are built into every release.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of the UX process for core products, guiding work from research and discovery through wireframes, interactive prototypes, detailed visual designs, and engineering handoff.
- Create and evolve the design system, UI component libraries, and UX standards so the product stays consistent and can scale cleanly.
- Design and conduct user research, interviews, and usability studies, then use feedback from healthcare professionals to shape product direction.
- Partner with product, engineering, and domain experts to clarify user needs, explore possible solutions, and deliver high-quality interfaces.
- Represent the user perspective, ensuring clinician needs remain central while also accounting for usability, clinical precision, safety, and compliance.
- Contribute to building the design organization by helping hire, mentor, and develop future team members as the company grows.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience in UX/UI design, with prior exposure to complex or regulated environments such as healthcare, medical devices, or consumer products being advantageous.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates user-focused thinking, structured problem solving, and thoughtful solutions to complicated workflows.
- Practical experience with user research and usability testing.
- Comfort using standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to different audiences.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and enthusiasm for building processes and products from the ground up.
- Genuine interest in improving healthcare and a clear appreciation for the responsibility involved in designing for medical use cases.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $140,000 to $175,000.
