Role Overview

The Procurement Officer role is a full-time position based on-site in Ghana, responsible for managing comprehensive procurement processes supporting EMC's MEP projects. This includes identifying and evaluating suppliers, generating and processing purchase orders, and guaranteeing prompt delivery of required materials and equipment. The role also involves negotiating contracts and prices, overseeing inventory levels, and working closely with project managers, engineers, and finance departments to ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and budgets.

Additional duties include maintaining precise procurement documentation, analyzing purchasing data to enhance cost effectiveness and quality, and ensuring all procedures comply with company policies and applicable laws. Effective communication with internal teams and suppliers is vital to promptly address issues and ensure seamless project operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in procurement and purchasing, including vendor sourcing and selection, material acquisition, and supplier coordination.
• Experience with preparation, tracking, and management of purchase orders.
• Strong contract negotiation capabilities to secure favorable terms and maintain supplier relationships.
• Analytical aptitude to assess quotations, monitor market trends, optimize expenditure, and enable data-supported decisions.
• Preferably holds a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or relevant fields.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certifications (e.g., CIPS) are advantageous.
• Experience in construction, engineering, or MEP-related sectors is desirable.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills suited to a collaborative on-site project environment in Ghana.
