- Collaborate cross-functionally with customers and senior engineers to understand product roadmaps, workflows, and business challenges.
- Leverage simulation and AI/ML tools to optimize etching process development strategies.
- Perform data analysis to enhance process efficiency and yield using tools such as JMP.
- Coordinate with concept and feasibility teams to foster process innovations and technology integration.
- Effectively present complex etch processes and demo statuses.
- Proactively identify and resolve process or productivity issues at customer sites, providing alternative solutions.
- Lead technology demonstrations, evaluations, and tool qualifications at customer locations to promote new technologies.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer requests related to process, hardware, and software, coordinating cross-functional responses.
Leadership Duties
- Provide guidance to junior colleagues and potentially lead small-scale projects with manageable risks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to acquire information and achieve objectives.
- Regularly update management and executives on demonstration progress both internally and at customer sites.
Customer Relations
- Represent Lam Research professionally to customers, sharing product knowledge and identifying additional customer needs.
Additional Obligations
- Willingness to travel 3-4 months during initial training and for ongoing on-site support visits.
- Contribute to product development and release processes.
Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics; alternatively, a Master's or Bachelor's degree with relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Plasma Physics, Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Inductively and Capacitively Coupled Plasma processes, Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), Plasma Enhanced CVD (PECVD), and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD).
- Experience working in laboratories and with semiconductor equipment, including surface preparation and analytical techniques.
- Commitment to continuous learning in advanced technologies.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies; skilled with statistical software like JMP and Minitab.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business demands.
- Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Prior experience in collaborative and matrix organizational environments.
- Proven track record managing development projects and supporting semiconductor customers.
