Planning Engineer

Role Responsibilities

• Apply comprehensive knowledge in project planning, budgeting, cost phasing, and control across all project phases using computer-based systems like Primavera P6 and Primavera Contract Management (Expedition).
• Manage multiple concurrent projects to align with business objectives and ensure successful delivery.
• Utilize the latest Primavera software versions for tracking baseline schedules, updates, and cost monitoring.
• Standardize the usage of Ashghal forms and reports within Primavera Contract Management and review contractor submissions critically.
• Verify progressing activities against original project plans.
• Regularly update cost plans and cash flows and consolidate findings in monthly reporting.
• Implement and maintain Earned Value Management Systems to measure project performance.
• Conduct Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and prepare corresponding recommendation reports.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field with certifications in project planning, scheduling, and usage of Primavera tools.
• At least 14 years of experience in similar roles within engineering consultancy, supervision, or project management consultancy environments.
• Experience focused on infrastructure projects involving roads, drainage, sewerage, and public works.
• Good foundational knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Primavera Project Management (P6), Primavera Contract Management (Expedition), and Power BI.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, along with effective presentation capabilities.
• Must hold MMUP certification.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle various tasks and priorities.
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety protocols, and environmental regulations pertinent to infrastructure projects.
• Competence in generating project progress reports, cost forecasts, and schedule updates for stakeholders.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with keen attention to ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
