About Halter
Halter is building tools that help farmers and graziers run more productive and sustainable operations. The company is focused on removing the time-heavy limits of traditional farming methods so customers can manage grazing in a simpler, more efficient way. The business is backed by leading investors and is working toward meaningful change in a complex industry.
People who join Halter are drawn to work that matters, a team that performs at a high level, and a culture built around strong ownership, pace, and care for outcomes.
About the Role
This position sits at the centre of a fast-growing organisation as it expands into more markets. The work involves supporting people movement across borders, maintaining immigration and right-to-work compliance, and helping the company operate smoothly as it scales internationally.
As the People Mobility Specialist, you will own the day-to-day operations for global mobility. That includes visa and immigration case handling, relocation coordination, and support for employees moving between countries, teams, and markets. You will partner closely with the Head of People Operations, outside immigration providers, and internal teams to keep everything moving accurately, quickly, and compliantly.
This is a hands-on operational role rather than a passive support function. It calls for someone who is highly organised, comfortable with complexity, strong on detail, and motivated by helping people navigate major life and work changes. Success in the role depends on good judgement, clear communication, and strong project management across multiple moving parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle immigration and visa matters from start to finish across the company’s operating markets, ensuring each case is progressed carefully and promptly.
- Take ownership of right-to-work compliance so the business remains legally compliant and ready for audit across all relevant markets.
- Coordinate international relocation support for employees, including timelines, logistics, and employee communication throughout the process.
- Manage relationships with external immigration vendors, set clear expectations, and ensure they deliver to the standard and speed the business needs.
- Support internal mobility by organising the documentation, logistics, and timing involved when employees move across teams, functions, or markets.
- Be ready to handle a broad range of additional operational tasks as they arise in a fast-moving environment.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone with strong experience in a high-volume, detail-focused operational setting. Direct mobility or immigration background is not essential; what matters most is the ability to learn unfamiliar processes quickly and manage them well.
The right person communicates proactively and clearly, remains composed in high-pressure situations, maintains excellent records, and treats sensitive information with discretion. You should be highly organised, precise, and dependable, with the judgement to know when to escalate issues and when to keep moving forward.
We’re also looking for someone who can manage vendors effectively, build accountable working relationships, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
Benefits
- Access to snacks and drinks at the office each day.
- Health coverage through Southern Cross Health Insurance.
- Six months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers.
- Four weeks of fully paid leave for secondary caregivers, along with other family-support benefits.
- An annual NZ$1,000 self-development budget for personal growth.
- Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
- A competitive rewards package including salary, benefits, and an employee stock ownership plan.
Work Style
Halter follows an office-first approach. In-person collaboration is the default because the company believes it strengthens relationships, learning, feedback, and overall impact. The team is trusted to use judgement and work flexibly when needed.
Join the Team
Halter is committed to building an inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds can do their best work. If you are excited by the opportunity but do not meet every requirement, you are still encouraged to apply.
Applicants are expected to submit a cover letter explaining why they are interested in the role and in working at Halter, together with a CV.
Why People Enjoy Working Here
The company highlights meaningful work, strong and talented colleagues, continuous learning, high autonomy, and the chance to help reshape an entire industry. The environment is fast-paced, ambitious, and designed for people who want to take on hard problems and grow quickly.
