Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Group Payroll Lead, the Payroll Officer is accountable for precise and prompt weekly payroll delivery across Australia and New Zealand. While working within the larger payroll team, the role requires autonomy, strong organizational skills, and ownership of routine payroll tasks.
This position involves collaboration with HR, Finance, operational leaders, employees, and external partners to uphold payroll compliance and ensure accurate employee remuneration.
Key Duties
- Complete end-to-end weekly payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand.
- Handle employee status changes, allowances, deductions, leave, and termination payments.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll, HRIS, and attendance databases using ADP, SuccessFactors, and Tanda.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and stakeholders professionally and promptly.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and perform month-end and year-end procedures including Single Touch Payroll (STP), payroll tax, and superannuation responsibilities.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, system faults, and ensure data integrity.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in payroll management roles such as Payroll Officer or Payroll Specialist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of payroll laws, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, taxation, and superannuation standards.
- Excel under strict payroll deadlines while maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, juggle competing tasks, and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Proficient with payroll systems like ADP; familiarity with SuccessFactors and Tanda is a plus.
- Effective communication skills with confidence in liaising with employees, managers, and internal teams.
