Overview
The Payroll Executive will manage comprehensive payroll activities for employees at a manufacturing facility in Gurugram, ensuring precise salary calculations, compliance with relevant labor regulations, and timely payments. This role demands collaboration with multiple departments to handle attendance, overtime, statutory deductions, and resolve employee payroll concerns efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly salaries for workers, staff, and contractual personnel, verifying attendance, shifts, overtime, and leave inputs.
- Calculate wages accurately, including bonuses, incentives, and deductions, and conduct full and final settlements as needed.
- Comply with statutory obligations such as Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Bonus, Gratuity, and Minimum Wages Act; prepare and submit all mandatory returns on time.
- Manage attendance records using biometric or manual systems, coordinating closely with production teams to monitor absenteeism, late arrivals, and overtime.
- Maintain detailed payroll records and employee salary information; generate reports like MIS and cost analyses to support internal and external audits.
- Address employee inquiries regarding salaries, deductions, taxation, and salary structure explanations, and provide payslips.
- Collaborate with HR for employee data updates, Finance for salary disbursement and accounting, and Plant supervisors for attendance data.
Required Skills and Competencies
- In-depth understanding of payroll procedures tailored for manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of labor laws relevant to manufacturing, including statutory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with payroll software such as SAP, Tally, or other HRMS tools.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in work.
- Excellent communication capabilities coupled with analytical problem-solving skills.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Payroll or HR certifications preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of three years up to ten or more years of payroll experience, ideally within manufacturing or plant setups.
- Experience managing payroll for large employee populations, including contract labor, particularly in environments with shift work and substantial overtime.
