Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Pattern Maker position based in Maitama, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. The selected candidate will convert design concepts and body measurements into accurate garment patterns while ensuring the final output is suitable for production and delivers the right fit.
Core Duties
The Pattern Maker will create new patterns, refine existing ones, and make adjustments as needed. The role includes attending fittings, working closely with designers and production staff, and preparing patterns for cutting and sewing. Both hand-drafting and computer-based pattern development will be part of the work.
Other responsibilities include checking samples for fit and quality, carrying out alterations to align with production standards and client expectations, maintaining well-organized pattern files and records, and supporting improvements in the overall pattern development process.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong command of garment pattern making and pattern design, along with the ability to fit garments and assist in sewing-related sample development. Experience using computer-aided design tools for creating and editing digital patterns is also important.
Candidates are expected to be highly accurate with measurements, attentive to detail, capable of solving problems effectively, and comfortable working with designers and production teams. Prior exposure to fashion, garment production, or tailoring, as well as vocational or technical training in pattern making or fashion design, will be an advantage.
