Role overview
This is a full-time fixed-term position for two years. The Orthopaedic Registrar will deliver advanced care for orthopaedic inpatients and outpatients, while also supporting the day-to-day treatment of medical patients. The role includes handling complex clinical issues and offering leadership to junior doctors in collaboration with the specialist team.
About the hospital and location
The base hospital serves the community of Mildura and the wider Sunraysia district on behalf of the Victorian Government. It offers a broad mix of public hospital services, including emergency care, maternity, intensive care, general medicine, surgery, medical imaging, pathology, dialysis, mental health services for both inpatients and the community, and ambulatory care.
Mildura is situated in north-west Victoria on the Murray River, around 600 kilometres from Melbourne and 380 kilometres from Adelaide. The town and surrounding Sunraysia region have an estimated population of about 80,000.
