Operations Director - Lean Manufacturing

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Director of Operations to lead and manage the entire range of business operations in a progressive and innovative manufacturing company based in Singapore. This impactful position encompasses oversight of manufacturing processes, warehousing, logistics, quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and sustainability initiatives, all aimed at ensuring smooth, efficient, and superior quality output.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all manufacturing operations including print-on-demand and offset printing, focusing on enhancing production efficiency, turnaround times, and meeting sustainability targets.
• Lead the implementation and optimization of automated warehousing and inventory management systems ensuring full integration with production workflows.
• Promote and drive sustainability initiatives across operations, developing eco-friendly practices and monitoring progress against sustainability objectives.
• Uphold stringent quality assurance, compliance, and safety standards, continuously improving processes using data insights and customer feedback.
• Supervise maintenance of all production equipment through preventive and predictive programs and maintain an effective spare parts inventory.
• Manage and mentor a team of managerial personnel, conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and fostering a culture of operational excellence and ongoing development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• At least 15 years of expertise in manufacturing and supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership positions, preferably in high-tech or contract manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies; familiarity with print-on-demand and offset printing is advantageous.
• Proven leadership skills with a capacity to inspire, influence, and lead diverse and cross-functional teams.
• Exceptional communication abilities, confident in engaging with senior stakeholders including global publishing clients and company executives.
• Personality traits required include confidence, intellectual acumen, pragmatic approach, and a hands-on leadership style.
• Adaptability and collaborative mindset required to manage both technical and interpersonal challenges while balancing strategic planning and operational execution.
