Role Overview

This position is based at multiple locations including Newport, Titchfield (Fareham), and Darlington. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) supports a flexible hybrid working approach across the UK, linking employees to one contractual location while splitting the workweek between office and remote work. A minimum of 40% office attendance is required under this model.

Key Qualifications and Experience

• Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge across a wide array of topics, especially in official statistics methodology, with deeper expertise in select areas.
• Demonstrated success applying statistical knowledge to various projects, showing innovative problem-solving and effective methodological investigation.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams by guiding, developing, and coaching analysts as well as quality assuring their outputs.
• Experience overseeing and delivering multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capability in statistical consultancy, including interacting with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver solutions.
• Proficient in programming for statistical analyses, independently developing code using tools like R, SAS, or Python.
