MEP Testing and Commissioning Engineer

Role Overview

The position involves leading and coordinating the testing and commissioning (T&C) process for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems including HVAC, Electrical, ELV, Fire Protection, and Plumbing across projects aligned with key milestones and final project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the comprehensive testing and commissioning plan tailored to all MEP systems, ensuring timelines are in sync with project schedules and final delivery.
• Direct and validate pre-commissioning tasks such as pressure tests, electrical continuity assessments, insulation resistance testing (meggering), pipeline cleaning, airflow balancing, loop verifications, and readiness audits for diverse MEP components.
• Collaborate closely with civil, architectural, and MEP construction teams to confirm installations are ready for testing phases; engage with original equipment manufacturers, suppliers, consultants, and client-side representatives to accomplish technical validations and coordinate joint inspections.
• Supervise individual system functionality tests: including HVAC controls performance, diesel generator synchronization, transformer energization, pump and lighting operation checks, fire alarm system activations, building management system (BMS) trials, and water flow and pressure assessments, ensuring systems operate reliably and comply with specifications.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all T&C activities, comprising test protocols, verification checklists, equipment calibration certificates, commissioning reports, as-built (red-lined) drawings, and obtain client approvals. Prepare and preserve digital records along with complete handover packages.
