Schedule
This is a full-time role of 30+ hours per week. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays during operating hours of 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. Flexibility to help cover team needs is expected.
Role overview
The Medical Assistant will help maintain a professional, welcoming clinic environment while supporting providers in delivering dermatology care and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Create a warm, professional environment that supports high-quality care for patients and providers.
- Assist physicians with medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
- Document prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photographs, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures according to established processes.
- Understand patient flow and stay ahead of the provider’s next steps as much as possible.
- Prepare exam rooms before and after patient visits and check equipment at the start of each shift to confirm everything is working properly.
- Give patients pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions when needed.
- Scan retail products, cosmetic products, and medical supplies each day, and alert the Head MA and/or General Manager if stock is running low.
- Help with inventory control, stocking supplies, and organizing equipment as requested.
- Participate in in-house training and ongoing learning opportunities.
Requirements
- Prior dermatology experience is required.
- Previous healthcare experience is required.
- Phlebotomy experience is required.
- National Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems and patient scheduling tools is needed.
- Comfort using computers and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities are necessary.
- Excellent patient service and customer care skills are expected.
- Candidate must have open availability on weekdays and weekends.
Compensation and benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $20 to $25.
- Full-time employees working 30+ hours per week are eligible for medical coverage, including virtual care, plus HSA/FSA, dental, and vision benefits starting on the first day of the month after the hire date.
- 401(k) eligibility begins after 30 days of employment.
