Mechanical Drafter

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter for a 3-month contract position based in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in mechanical drafting, 3D modeling, and creating manufacturing drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce precise 2D mechanical drawings with AutoCAD software.
• Develop comprehensive 3D part, assembly, and fabrication models using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD tools.
• Create detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings derived from 3D models.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards to all drawings.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and technical documents effectively.
• Incorporate machining symbols, tolerance indicators, and surface finish details into drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with engineering, manufacturing, and project standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to clarify and optimize drawing specifications.
• Update and modify drawings based on feedback from engineering and production units.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Drafting.
• Demonstrable experience as a Mechanical Draftsman.
• Excellent skills in AutoCAD 2D drafting.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
• Experience in creating 3D models for parts, assemblies, and fabrication purposes.
• Strong familiarity with manufacturing drawing standards and drafting practices.
• Good understanding of GD&T principles.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of machining symbols and surface finish criteria.
• Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in drafting work.
• Immediate availability is preferred.
