Role Overview

We are in search of an analytically minded and highly results-driven Master Scheduler to oversee the planning, coordination, and management of the entire manufacturing cycle from raw materials to finished goods. This essential position ensures the availability of materials, streamlines production efficiencies, accommodates capacity needs, and supports timely product delivery. The Master Scheduler acts as a vital communication link between Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Inventory departments to sustain an effective master production schedule and promote ongoing improvements backed by data analysis and performance tracking. Candidates should demonstrate solid planning proficiency, impeccable organizational capabilities, and the aptitude to lead cross-functional teams within a lively manufacturing setting.

Work Location Requirements

This role demands full onsite presence at Gerard Daniel Worldwide's manufacturing plant located in Fontana, California. The Master Scheduler is expected at the facility every business day, working collaboratively with Operations, Inventory, Procurement, and Production units. Due to the role’s operational nature, remote or hybrid work options are not offered.

Key Duties

• Design, manage, and consistently update the master production schedule for both in-house manufactured and externally purchased finished goods.
• Accurately determine customer promise dates by assessing backlog, production capacity, material availability, and company priorities.
• Prioritize and expedite urgent approved orders within the manufacturing pipeline.
• Sustain a level-loaded rolling schedule over 26 weeks for production sites.
• Ensure production plans align with business goals, customer demands, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Oversee manufacturing and subcontract work orders from initiation through financial completion.
• Coordinate with Quality, Operations, Procurement, and related departments to guarantee timely production steps.
• Track work order status and proactively resolve issues affecting schedules.
• Promote schedule adherence and production efficiency during manufacturing execution.
• Analyze capacity plans for labor, equipment, and facilities to identify any production bottlenecks.
• Recommend operational enhancements for throughput optimization and support for business growth.
• Liaise with manufacturing leadership to balance resource availability against demand.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Sales to synchronize material needs with production and customer demands.
• Examine bill of materials, inventory stock, and consumption patterns to ensure raw material adequacy.
• Advise on inventory strategies to prevent shortages and control costs.
• Set and manage inventory targets across raw materials, subassemblies, and finished products.
• Detect material-related constraints early to avoid production disruptions.
• Conduct short-term and long-term demand reviews to aid production and procurement planning.
• Evaluate demand data to inform safety stock and inventory optimization efforts.
• Offer guidance on make-or-buy decisions and overall supply chain tactics.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems, notably Syteline, to maintain and update master scheduling and planning platforms accurately.
• Manage data integrity, ensuring planning inputs reflect constraints on materials, personnel, machinery, and capacity.
• Generate reports on production metrics and service performance; monitor KPIs such as schedule compliance, inventory management, and customer satisfaction.
• Identify performance gaps and recommend improvements, driving continuous enhancement of planning processes.
• Maintain compliance with quality management, environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Complete mandated training and maintain operational proficiency with company systems and processes.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience may be accepted.
• Between five to ten years of master scheduling, production planning, and capacity planning within high-volume metals manufacturing or similar industrial sectors.
• At least five years of direct experience with ERP/MRP systems supporting production and inventory functions.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, production oversight, inventory control, and supply chain operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex priorities in a dynamic production environment.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in developing and monitoring operational performance and KPIs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
• Comfort with preparing and delivering operational reports and recommendations to management and executives.

Preferred:

• Certifications from APICS such as CPIM, CSCP, or similar professional credentials.
• Prior experience in metals manufacturing, industrial fabrication, wire products, or related sectors.
• Advanced expertise in ERP/MRP planning systems.
• Spanish language proficiency considered a plus.
• Background in supporting operations across multiple manufacturing sites.

Physical and Work Environment

• Ability to work within both office settings and industrial manufacturing facilities.
• Regular walking and inspection of manufacturing and production areas required.
• Comfortable with extensive use of computer-based planning software and data analysis.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to different manufacturing plants, supplier sites, and customer locations.
