Role Summary
The Marketing Manager for the German market plays a crucial role in implementing Portwest's marketing strategy and plans. This full-time, fully remote position reports directly to the Global Director of Marketing and involves deep understanding of market competition, including key competitors and the most effective channels to enhance brand awareness and sales growth among new and existing customers. The role focuses on delivering integrated campaigns across various marketing disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement marketing strategy and plans tailored to the German market, translating these into successful, integrated campaigns.
- Develop detailed insights into local market dynamics, competitors, and the best channels for brand building and revenue growth.
- Manage paid media campaigns including Paid Social, Paid Search, and programmatic advertising, overseeing budget allocation and ROI/ROAS reporting aimed at brand awareness, lead generation, and sales growth.
- Plan, develop, and execute email marketing campaigns to nurture and convert prospects and customers.
- Deliver social media marketing initiatives to boost brand engagement and visibility.
- Organize and manage sponsorship activities to maximize brand presence and market success.
- Collaborate with sales partners in co-marketing activities to extend reach and stimulate demand.
- Plan and conduct trade fair activations and experiential marketing to showcase the brand and generate qualified leads.
- Support participation in webinars, training sessions, and trade shows, including follow-up and activation of generated contacts for effective conversion.
- Create KPI reports and provide actionable insights to support commercial alignment and ongoing marketing optimization, working closely with the sales team.
- Coordinate with local sales and global marketing teams to align marketing efforts with sales priorities, revenue targets, and global brand strategies.
- Work alongside designers, agencies, and external providers to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure all campaigns comply with brand guidelines and consistently represent the company identity.
- Take on additional tasks as needed to support department and company objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of five years’ experience in marketing, preferably within workwear, protective clothing, PPE, industrial sectors, or similar B2B manufacturing environments.
- Fluent German and English communication skills, both spoken and written, are mandatory.
- Proven expertise managing paid media campaigns including Paid Social, Paid Search (Google Ads), and programmatic advertising with budget control and performance optimization experience.
- Broad experience across multiple marketing disciplines, including email marketing, social media, sponsorships, and trade shows, is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI reporting and deriving actionable business insights from data.
- Confident collaboration with sales teams, agencies, and external vendors.
- High self-motivation and capability to operate independently in a fully remote, market-oriented role.
- Willingness to travel within Germany for team collaboration and occasional visits to Portwest’s headquarters in Ireland.
