Market Data Analyst

Overview

This position is primarily based out of Markham and involves working in a hybrid environment, requiring on-site presence four days per week with the option to work from home one day a week. The Market Data Analyst is responsible for acting as the principal data and reporting source for Used Vehicle Sales Operations and Remarketing departments, managing data collection, validation, and analysis from multiple sources to provide clear, actionable business insights.

Key Duties

• Collect, verify, and manage market, sales, and operational data ensuring high accuracy and consistent availability for analysis and reporting.
• Design, update, and improve both standardized and ad hoc reports and dashboards to highlight important performance indicators and trends.
• Conduct analysis on vehicle pricing models, residual values, and current market conditions to spot potential risks and opportunities.
• Convert complex data into understandable business insights and actionable recommendations.
• Work closely with diverse teams to comprehend reporting requirements and refine analytical approaches accordingly.
• Ensure data accuracy and governance compliance through routine quality checks.
• Streamline and automate report generation to enhance efficiency and diminish manual workload.
• Maintain thorough documentation of data sources, reporting techniques, and processes to enable consistency and scalability.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of a college diploma required; a university degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field is preferred.
• Between one to three years of experience in roles involving data analysis, report generation, or analytics, including co-op and internships.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, formulas, and data manipulation.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail with capability to manage large datasets accurately.
• Proficient in translating complex technical data into simple, business-relevant insights.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple reporting assignments effectively in a dynamic environment.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Interaction

• Partner with Sales, Remarketing, Credit, and Risk teams to meet reporting and data analysis needs.
• Provide senior management with comprehensive reporting, dashboards, and insights for business evaluation sessions.
• Support brand teams by supplying analytical data on program outcomes and market developments.
• Work in coordination with IT teams to assist in data sourcing, troubleshooting, and reporting enhancements.

Compensation and Additional Information

The annual salary range for this role is between 72921 and 86593 CAD, with exact compensation determined by factors including education, experience, and individual skill levels.
