About Gardens by the Bay
Situated at the core of Singapore's Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay is a significant part of the "City in a Garden" concept, encompassing 101 hectares of premium land. It includes three waterfront gardens: Bay South, Bay East, and Bay Central. Renowned as a global attraction, the gardens exhibit innovative horticulture and garden artistry, drawing visitors locally and internationally.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering professional to join the team at Gardens by the Bay. This role involves managing specialized mechanical systems such as stratification cooling, liquid desiccants, absorption chillers, biomass plants, and smoke aspiration technologies within the gardens. The successful candidate will oversee both indoor and outdoor engineering operations, ensuring that all systems meet the operational demands and facility standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operational activities carried out by managing agents and contractors, ensuring adherence to contract terms and timelines.
- Coordinate with other departments to address engineering and facility-related needs across the gardens.
- Manage project contracts, focusing on optimizing maintenance and project expenditures.
- Ensure all facilities and equipment are regularly serviced and maintained in proper working order.
- Maintain detailed records pertaining to facility operations and maintenance activities.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in facilities and project management, specifically in construction, engineering consultancy, or similar industries such as large retail or lifestyle complexes and attractions.
- Strong understanding of underground water leak detection, water reticulation systems, irrigation, fogging systems, and other mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.
- Expertise or experience with sanitary plumbing, smart metering, fire protection, and fire safety systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrated creativity and innovation in applying advanced engineering technologies.
- Proficient problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively coordinate with diverse teams and external vendors.
