Manager - Product Development

About the Role

We seek an experienced Product Development Manager with 4 to 8 years in hardware engineering to independently lead complete product development cycles of innovative hardware devices. This role requires hands-on skills in PCB design, embedded systems, hardware validation, and product testing, along with experience liaising with component suppliers and manufacturers. Prior exposure to audio products, smart devices, or similar sound-based products is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Design complex Analog, Digital, Power, and Audio hardware circuits.
• Create and validate PCB schematics and layouts to ensure production readiness.
• Enhance and fine-tune PCB layouts maintaining signal and power integrity and manufacturability.
• Integrate hardware with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
• Conduct prototype bring-up, debugging, hardware validation, and root cause investigations.
• Prepare and maintain BOMs, comprehensive design documentation, and engineering change orders.
• Lead efforts in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and ensure production readiness standards.
• Collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams during product lifecycles.
• Manage relationships with external vendors for component sourcing, prototyping, and manufacturing support.
• Analyze and resolve field issues, implementing design enhancements from test results and customer input.

Required Skills

• Proficient in PCB design and validation techniques.
• Experienced in Analog, Digital, Power, and Audio circuit schematic design.
• Skilled in embedded systems and interfacing with microcontrollers.
• Familiar with PCB layout, BOM management, DFM, and DFT concepts.
• Competent in prototype debugging, hardware validation, and reliability testing.
• Operational knowledge of PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, Cadence, or similar.
• Deep understanding of electronic components, interfaces, and power management circuits.
• Strong analytical and hardware debugging abilities.

Mandatory Experience

• Proven hands-on experience managing end-to-end hardware product design and testing.
• Experience in coordinating vendor interactions for components including batteries, speakers, and audio modules.
• Background in developing audio-related hardware products like smart speakers and soundboxes.
• Understanding manufacturing processes, component qualification, and supplier relationships.
• Hands-on involvement supporting products through prototype, pilot, and mass production phases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience in IoT devices, consumer electronics, or hardware payment systems.
