Job description
Job Overview
This role involves leading the advancement and validation of manufacturing processes, especially within the electric vehicle (EV) drivetrain and power electronics domain. The manager will oversee the New Product Introduction (NPI) through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) from start to finish, focusing on continuous improvement to boost efficiency, reduce operational costs, and eliminate waste across production lines.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development, optimization, and validation of manufacturing workflows and processes.
- Manage comprehensive NPI APQP tasks ensuring thorough quality and process standards.
- Drive projects aimed at continuous improvement, targeting enhanced efficiency and cost savings with waste elimination as a focus.
- Create and maintain process flow diagrams, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and work instructions.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and validation of fixtures, tooling, and equipment required for manufacturing.
- Provide robust support to production teams by employing problem-solving techniques, including root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Monitor and enhance crucial process parameters and manufacturing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure manufacturing operations meet safety regulations, quality benchmarks, and IATF 16949 automotive standards.
- Collaborate closely with multiple departments such as Quality, Production, Design, and Supply Chain for integrated manufacturing solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and production teams, facilitating technical skill development and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering graduate with 15 to 18 years of industry experience, particularly in EV drivetrain or power electronics manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, digital manufacturing technologies, and automation systems.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is required; Green Belt or Black Belt credentials are preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to making informed decisions.
