Role Overview

Aristotle is looking for a Manager, Advocacy to help run client advocacy efforts within a fast-paced public affairs environment. This role is hands-on and suited to someone who can write well, stay organized, think strategically, and grow into a stronger advocacy specialist over time.

In this position, you will support the planning and coordination of campaign activity, follow legislative and regulatory changes, assist with coalition and stakeholder engagement, and help keep client projects progressing smoothly. The ideal candidate takes ownership, asks thoughtful questions, and is eager to build practical advocacy experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with senior staff and client teams to support advocacy campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Monitor policy issues and legislative activity, then suggest improvements to outreach plans, advocacy messaging, and position documents.
  • Help organize fly-ins, lobby days, coalition sessions, stakeholder briefings, webinars, and other campaign events.
  • Create and refine action alerts, newsletters, social posts, talking points, leave-behinds, website content, and other client-facing materials.
  • Oversee digital assets used on social channels and websites, making sure content is current, accurate, and aligned with client goals.
  • Coordinate work across creative, data, digital, technology, and client service functions.
  • Research lawmakers, districts, agencies, committees, companies, coalitions, and target stakeholder groups to support outreach and strategy.
  • Track campaign progress, prepare status reports, document follow-ups from meetings, and contribute to reporting on client objectives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Communications, Public Policy, Public Affairs, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in advocacy, public affairs, government relations, campaigns, legislative work, account management, communications, or a similar area.
  • A practical understanding of how the legislative process works, along with interest in lobbying, grassroots advocacy, stakeholder outreach, and public affairs campaigns.
  • Strong ability to write, edit, communicate, and build working relationships.
  • Comfort working with digital advocacy tools, CRM platforms, email systems, social media tools, or comparable technology.
  • Excellent organization, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a busy team setting.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience from Capitol Hill, political campaigns, associations, corporate government affairs, public affairs, or an agency environment.
  • Background in coordinating events such as lobby days, webinars, fly-ins, or stakeholder meetings.
  • Familiarity with social media management, social listening, paid social coordination, project management tools, or stakeholder research.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 base pay, plus bonus eligibility. The role is full-time and includes medical coverage, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, and stock options. The workplace also offers casual dress and a non-corporate environment designed to support learning and teamwork.
