Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer reporting to the General Manager, you will be entrusted with executing general maintenance and repair tasks for buildings, fixtures, and associated structures. Your efforts will ensure that residents, staff, and visitors experience a safe and pleasant environment aligned with the Home Maintenance Plan.

Key Duties

• Conduct inspections and oversee statutory, preventative, and corrective maintenance activities within the facility.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of onsite contractors effectively.
• Maintain an aesthetically pleasing, compliant, and secure workplace.
• Handle maintenance tasks including cleaning, painting, lighting upkeep, television installations, hanging artworks, rubbish disposal, air conditioning checks and maintenance, tiling, basic plumbing, furniture relocation, and general repairs.
• Ensure scheduled maintenance of assets is carried out following the Maintenance Plan and meets legislative standards.
• Adhere to all applicable legislation in maintenance operations.
• Utilize preferred suppliers appropriately, ensuring work remains within set budgets and follows established procedures.
• Complete assigned maintenance tasks within the agreed timelines.

Applicant Requirements

• Minimum of two years' experience in a similar maintenance role with practical knowledge of building maintenance processes.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractors and site maintenance budgets, including handling work orders and requisitions.
• Capability to collaborate well within team settings.
• Understanding and application of legislation, codes, and standards pertinent to building maintenance.
• Moderate proficiency with computers.
• Valid driver's license.
• Completed pre-employment medical assessment is mandatory.
• Willingness to undergo or possess a National Police Check and/or NDIS Workers Check prior to starting.

Location Details

This role is situated at the Hillside Aged Care facility in Heathfield, within the scenic Adelaide Hills. The location offers a peaceful environment surrounded by tall trees and bushland, just 15km from the City of Adelaide.
