Job Overview
The Logistics Coordinator is entrusted with managing daily shipment orders to ensure timely execution. This role covers freight booking, shipment coordination, collaboration with various parties in warehousing and transportation, as well as creating shipping documentation and ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process shipment orders initiated by customers promptly.
- Arrange freight bookings with designated carriers according to customer carrier routines.
- Offer quotations for services including warehousing, transportation, and documentation.
- Coordinate with truckers to handle empty container pickups from depots to customer sites for loading and subsequently dispatching the loaded containers to ports.
- Prepare required permits, applications, and declarations relevant to shipments.
- Create letters of credit and finalize shipping documents.
- Monitor shipping paperwork to ensure clearance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is preferred.
- 1 to 2 years' experience in managing sea freight operations is advantageous but not mandatory.
- New graduates or candidates without direct relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with SAP, logistics management software, and Microsoft Office suite is beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication along with coordination capabilities.
- Good interpersonal skills emphasizing customer service orientation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
