Overview
We are seeking a skilled Logistics Analyst for a six-month contract position based onsite in Santa Ana, CA. This role is pivotal in driving logistics risk management by leveraging data to identify, analyze, and monitor operational risks. The role offers long-term potential and involves close work with various operational systems to enhance logistical efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze logistics data obtained from Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and claims platforms to detect risk trends and anomalies.
- Create and sustain risk dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and early warning signals related to logistics operations.
- Monitor patterns related to losses, damages, delays, and service disruptions.
- Conduct root cause analyses supported by quantitative data and modeling techniques.
- Generate regular reports and conduct specialized analyses for management purposes.
- Collaborate with IT and operations departments to boost data quality and ensure effective system integrations.
- Assist in audits, compliance checks, and risk evaluation through detailed data analysis.
- Propose process improvements based on analytical findings to optimize logistics functions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Three to six years of practical experience in logistics analytics, operations analysis, or supply chain data evaluation.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and business intelligence platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of TMS/WMS functionality and key logistics performance indicators.
- Experience working with extensive datasets and crafting dashboards.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and detail-oriented skills with a capability to convert data into actionable business insights.
