Lifting Equipment Inspector

About the Role

A prominent construction project is seeking a qualified Lifting Appointed Person to oversee and manage lifting operations. This role requires extensive knowledge of safety standards and lifting procedures to ensure safe and efficient handling of lifting equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and supervision of lifting activities on-site
• Development of lift plans and detailed method statements
• Executing thorough risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
• Selecting appropriate cranes and lifting gear for specific tasks
• Ensuring all operations adhere to safety regulations and guidelines
• Assessing and confirming the competency of the lifting team members
• Coordinating efforts between crane operators, riggers, and site supervisors
• Monitoring lifting activities continuously and enforcing safety measures
• Halting operations immediately if safety concerns arise
• Maintaining comprehensive documentation including inspection records

Candidate Requirements

• Holders of Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Construction disciplines preferred
• Possession of CPCS A61 Appointed Person certification or an equivalent qualification
• Training credentials in lifting operations and safety protocols
• Solid understanding of lifting regulations such as LOLER or relevant local standards
• Competence in preparing lift plans and conducting risk assessments
• Sound knowledge of cranes, rigging techniques, and load chart interpretation
• Strong commitment to safety with effective decision-making capabilities
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in lifting operations or a related area
• Must currently reside in Qatar with a valid Qatar Identification (QID)
• Immediate availability to start the position is required
