Role Overview
The Learning & Onboarding Specialist manages and enhances the employee onboarding and learning journeys. This role ensures new hires receive thorough, uniform integration into the company while supporting continuous professional growth. Working closely with HR, business leaders, and subject experts, the specialist strengthens cultural connection and aligns onboarding with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full enterprise onboarding lifecycle, including preboarding and onboarding.
- Coordinate communications between Talent Acquisition, HR, hiring managers, and new employees during onboarding phases.
- Maintain and refine onboarding processes, standards, tools, resources, and messaging to ensure alignment with company priorities.
- Use feedback and participation analytics to assess onboarding effectiveness and implement enhancements improving new hire experience and productivity ramp-up.
- Lead onboarding programs balancing company-wide consistency with division-specific requirements.
- Manage START Class programming logistics, scheduling, and communications.
- Collaborate with presenters and leaders to deliver engaging onboarding sessions.
- Administer learning management systems, such as Docebo, for onboarding, compliance training, and professional development initiatives.
- Coordinate training schedules, enrollments, communications, and monitor completion.
- Analyze learning data and generate reports to guide continuous learning improvements.
- Support both manager and employee development programs.
- Create and update onboarding and learning curricula with input from subject matter experts.
- Integrate company values and culture throughout all onboarding activities.
- Conduct onboarding and culture sessions to enhance employee engagement and experience.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in onboarding, learning and development, talent management, HR, or similar areas.
- A background in managing employee programs or learning initiatives.
- Experience designing or enhancing onboarding and learning curricula.
- Strong organizational skills and proven project management capability.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and manage various stakeholders.
- Proven collaboration skills working across various business units and functions.
- Preferred experience in professional services, consulting, agencies, or healthcare communications sectors.
- Proficiency in onboarding and learning program administration.
- Experience with learning management systems, especially Docebo.
- Excellent facilitation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and report learning program data effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational aptitude.
