Role Overview
We seek an inspiring Leadership Tutor to deliver the New Zealand Certificate in Leadership (Level 3) at our Hastings campus. This full-time, permanent role involves teaching a new programme tailored for youth and upskilling learners, enabling them to cultivate confidence, leadership capabilities, and workplace behavior essential for employment success or further education.
Responsibilities
You will create an inclusive, supportive learning space where students discover their strengths, advance communication and collaboration skills, enhance problem-solving, and develop leadership confidence for self and others. The programme emphasizes interactive, practical, and relevant instruction connected to real-world situations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant is passionate about empowering young people with practical leadership abilities and workplace readiness. You will be a motivating facilitator who leads by example, engages learners effectively, and adapts teaching methods to maintain student participation and enthusiasm.
Required Experience and Skills
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in workplace settings
- Work experience with youth or young adults
- Ability to motivate, engage, and build learner confidence
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of leadership theories and diverse leadership styles
- Relevant industry qualification or experience
- Willingness to obtain an adult teaching qualification if not already certified
Teaching background in tertiary or adult education is beneficial but not mandatory. Candidates with successful leadership careers seeking a meaningful career change to educate and inspire future leaders are encouraged to apply.
