Role Overview

The Lead Cloud Application Engineer will ensure the reliability, availability, and operational excellence of OpenText's cloud services. This role involves automating software deployments, overseeing application lifecycles, monitoring service health, and spearheading continuous improvement efforts. The position requires close collaboration with development, infrastructure, security, and support teams to maintain stable, scalable, and secure cloud services while promoting a DevSecOps operating model.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of application deployment, release automation, and maintaining operational standards for cloud-hosted services.
• Utilize modern DevOps and automation tools within a scalable enterprise cloud environment.
• Focus on service reliability, application operations, and continuous enhancements instead of traditional infrastructure management.
• Partner with globally distributed engineering, support, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize cloud platform performance.
• Gain exposure to enterprise cloud platforms, monitoring tools, and automation frameworks for enhanced operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in application or cloud operations, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related technical fields.
• Skilled in deploying, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting enterprise applications on cloud or virtualized platforms.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and familiarity with Microsoft technologies, including .NET, C#, SQL, and Azure.
• Hands-on expertise with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions such as PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Experience working with monitoring, observability, and operational support systems like New Relic, Zabbix, Nagios, or PRTG.
• Strong troubleshooting abilities combined with excellent communication and collaboration skills, plus knowledge of networking concepts such as load balancing, clustering, and best practices for ensuring high service availability.
