About the role
The youth hostel in Bad Bentheim has 118 beds and welcomes around 4,500 guests each year. A team of 6 employees looks after school groups and participants in holiday programs. The property is known for its proximity to the historic old town, several bathing facilities, and excursion destinations in the German-Dutch border region. The position is available immediately on a full-time basis.
Your responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate smooth, efficient workflows in the kitchen area.
- Prepare hot and cold dishes in line with high nutritional and taste standards.
- Get meals ready for service and present or supervise the buffet with strong attention to visual quality.
- Make sure the Smile® quality management standards and all hygiene rules are consistently followed.
- Help design and calculate meal plans tailored to the target groups served by the hostel.
- Carry out general cleaning duties and dishwashing work in the kitchen.
- Monitor stock levels and receive incoming goods.
What we're looking for
- Completed training as a cook / chef (m/f/d) or in home economics management.
- Enjoyment in presenting food and looking after a buffet.
- Good manners and a well-groomed appearance.
- Comfort in dealing with people as well as working in a kitchen environment.
- Good German language skills.
- A collaborative mindset and strong team spirit.
- Flexibility and resilience.
- The ability to think proactively and contribute ideas.
