Role Overview
Valen Management is hiring a Junior MEP Planning Engineer in Doha, Qatar. The position is focused on supporting schedule development, progress tracking, and planning coordination for construction and MEP projects.
Qualifications
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Training or certification in Primavera P6 is preferred, while PMP or Planning & Scheduling certification is considered an advantage. Awareness of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System principles is also desirable.
Experience Profile
Applicants should have 2 to 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for construction or MEP work. Prior GCC exposure, especially in the UAE, is beneficial. A working understanding of project execution, procurement tracking, and construction sequencing for MEP systems is also expected.
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on capability with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is needed, along with familiarity with AutoCAD drawings and construction sequencing. Knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting dashboards will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will help build and revise baseline schedules, monitor progress across engineering, procurement, and construction activities, and coordinate with site teams, procurement staff, and subcontractors to gather updates. The role also includes preparing look-ahead schedules, recovery plans, and target completion plans; tracking delays and schedule risks; and supporting planning reports, presentations, manpower histograms, S-curves, and resource-loading outputs.
Additional duties include monitoring long-lead material and equipment procurement against milestones, coordinating schedule-related inspection and testing activities with QA/QC and construction teams, participating in coordination meetings, reviewing contractor and subcontractor programs, and tracking engineering submissions, material approvals, and authority approvals. The position also involves assisting with extension of time records, delay analysis, maintaining planning documentation, and ensuring compliance with project planning procedures and the company quality management system.
